What is Tenerismo

Tenerismo is a free browser-based guide to Tenerife. No account, email, or app installation required.

What we store on your device

The app uses your browser's localStorage to save:

• •Anonymous device ID (random UUID, generated locally) - used solely to confirm voluntary donations to support the project
• •Your analytics choice - whether you accepted anonymous usage statistics
• •The language you chose, so the app opens in it next time
• •Your favorite places - stored locally only, never sent to servers
• •The region, category and Plan tab you last viewed, so you return where you left off
• •Optional location - only with your permission, used to show nearby attractions, never saved on servers
• •The weather forecast fetched recently, so it is not downloaded again on every open
• •The fact that you supported the project, so we stop asking and show a thank-you instead
• •Which messages you have dismissed, so they are not shown again
• •An entry for an access mechanism that is currently switched off - all content is free, and while it stays off nothing is written there

localStorage is a browser mechanism distinct from tracking cookies. Data exists only on your device and is not accessible to any external services.

What we DON'T do

• •No tracking cookies without your consent
• •No advertising
• •No user profiling
• •No selling or sharing data
• •No registration or email required

Affiliate links

Some links and widgets for tours and car rentals lead to external partners: GetYourGuide and DiscoverCars. In the app we use:

• •GetYourGuide Widget - we load the GYG analytics script (widget.getyourguide.com) to display tours and track affiliate clicks (partner_id: YGHVWJ3)
• •DiscoverCars - a widget in an isolated iframe on the Plan page, plus links on the few place pages that are hard to reach without a car (a_aid: DigitalTom86)

When you follow a car rental link from a place's page, the name of that place is passed along with the link, so DiscoverCars can tell us which page a booking came from. Nothing about you personally is sent.

If you click a link or widget and make a booking, the partner sets their own cookie on their site per their privacy policy. We have no access to that data.

Payment processing (voluntary donations)

Payments are handled by Stripe (stripe.com). We never see or store your card details. Stripe processes payment data per their own privacy policy.

To confirm donations, we store the following in Supabase (EU servers, Frankfurt, Germany):

• •Anonymous device ID
• •Donation status

No personal data is linked to your device ID. Data is automatically deleted after 30 days.

If you optionally provide your email to confirm a donation, we use it solely to look up your transaction in Stripe and do not store it on our servers.

Legal basis: contract performance - processing of voluntary donation (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
